After years of great cooperation, interesting publications and outstanding teamwork Angelika Berger-Bečvař PhD. is leaving our institute and country for her new employment as PostDoc in Toronto, Canada. We wish her all the best for this new chapter in her career and hope to see her back in Vienna!

New publication in Oncogene

The paper "CDK6—a review of the past and a glimpse into the future: from cell-cycle control to transcriptional regulation" of Anca-Sarmiza Gültekin-Tigan, Florian Bellutti, Karoline Kollmann, Graham Tebb and Veronika Sexl was accepted in the journal Oncogene.

Josefstädter Straßenfest 2015 "Paint your PhD"

Angelika Berger-Bečvař participated at "Paint your PhD" at the Josefstädter Straßenfest 2015, organized by Verein 08 and contributed a great piece of art, even though it was raining.

Another upcoming interesting event will be the Science Salon on Oct. 15th.

Armin Tschermak of Seysenegg Prize for Eva Maria Putz

The Armin Tschermak of Seysenegg Prize of the year 2014 was awarded to Eva Maria Putz for her publication in the journal Cell Reports ("CDK8-Mediated STAT1-S727 Phosphorylation Restrains NK Cell Cytotoxicity and Tumor Surveillance"). This prize is awarded annually to young academic researchers of the University of Veterinary medicine and comes with 5,000 Euros prize money.

We are happy to announce that Veronika Sexl has been appointed as Austrian representative at the European Conference for molecular biology and at the council of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory by the Austrian government.

Master of Science for Sabrina Tripolt

Sabrina Tripolt received her Master of Science on 25 April 2014 for finishing her studies in molecular biology with her diploma thesis on "STAT1 in leukemia".
