Teaching, research and services are closely attached to veterinary practice.

Research

Research is focused on swine diseases that are currently of interest to researchers, farmers and state administration. Examples include PCV2, PRRSV, swine influenza virus and Haemophilus parasuis. It is paramount for us to work closely with other departments of the University of Veterinary Medicine (Clinical Immunology, Pathology, Virology, etc.), as well as with animal health services, other non-university institutions and practitioners.

Teaching

Lectures aim at deepening students’ knowledge of practices in the swine sector. For this reason, training not only takes place at the clinic but also at the teaching and research farm as well as at various farms in collaboration with colleagues practicing in the field.

Services

Support in the fields of herd management, individual animal examination and in depth diagnostic analysis are services offered by the Clinic for Swine to fellow veterinarians.

Laboratory

The laboratory sector is certified in accordance with EN ISO 9001:2015.
