Research at the Vetmeduni Vienna
The mission and aims of the research conducted at the Vetmeduni Vienna are, amongst others, to enhance veterinary sciences.
Today, not only the classical research fields of veterinary medicine, but also a growing number of domains related to human medicine are being explored. In the future, the growing importance of the following fields can be expected:
- Fast detection of epidemic diseases and the development of preemptive and direct measures to prevent epidemics,
- Providing healthy food,
- Risk analysis of research results,
- To secure the best possible treatment of animals and
- The advancement of treatment measures.
Main research areas
With the help of internal research advancement programmes, the Vetmeduni Vienna wants to gain an international leading position in her main research areas (Profillinien). Advancement measures may include:
- Help and advise in all areas concerning research advancement, research management and technology transfer as well as
- the advancement of international and interdisciplinary cooperations.
