Luminita Ciolacu

Post Doc, currently in maternity leave

Luminita has studied Food Science and performed her PhD at the Faculty of Food Science and Engineering, Dunarea de Jos University, Galati, Romania. During her PhD she spent already 18 months at the Institute for Milk Hygiene performing Listeria monocytogenes virulence assays. After her PhD she worked for two additional years as a Postdoc at the Dunarea de Jos University, Galati, Romania and the Institute for Milk Hygiene, University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. From 2014 to 2016 Luminita was a PostDoc researcher at Kemin Europa NV, Belgium, working with Bacillus subtilis.
Her research focuses mainly on the effect of the food matrices on the pathogenicity of Listeria monocytogenes.

Eva Harter

PhD student
Eva has studied Biology (Bsc.) Molecular Biology (Master) with the specification in Molecular Cell Biology at the University of Vienna. Her PhD thesis focuses on the characterization of hypervariable genetic hotspots in Listeria monocytogenes in stress response and virulence.

Eva has studied Biomedicine and Biotechnology at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. She is part of the Austrian competence centre FFoQSI - Feed and Food Quality, Safety and Innovation. The focus of her PhD thesis is the characterization of biofilms in the food processing environment.
