PhD Student in Biophysics/Electrophysiology Molecular biology of mitochondrial membrane proteins

75% / 30 hours per week. Duration of the Thesis: up to 4 years to be hired as soon as possible

Design and production of recombinant mitochondrial carrier proteins and their mutants, antibodies to mitochondrial carriers, establishment of tests to measure the function of recombinant proteins.

  • You studied Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or similar and you have a strong interest in investigating the structure/function of mitochondrial membrane proteins. You speak English fluently and at least understand German.
  • You are interested in molecular biology and structure/function of mitochondrial proteins.
  • Your responsibilities will be design of the transport function of transmembrane proteins in artificial lipid membranes and giant liposomes.
  • Your additional responsibilities will be participation in collaborative projects and teaching of practical courses for students of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedicine.
