Dr. Evelyn Steinberg is a senior scientist in the field of medical education research at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, Austria. Her main research project is “Self-regulated learning in medical education”, funded by the Austrian Science Fund FWF. She is also partner in the SOFTVETS project focusing on life skills in medical education, funded by the EU commission.
She was head of the assessment and quality assurance unit of Vetmeduni Vienna and coordinated the IQM-HE project on quality management in competence-based higher education. She published on competence-based higher education with a focus on bridging the gap between theory and practice and developing instruments for curriculum evaluation.
She obtained her doctoral degree cum laude on the topic of learning, applying a comprehensive view including cognitive, metacognitive, motivational and emotional aspects of learning as well as considering contextual factors of the learning environment.
