Proteomics

Proteomics has been gaining more interests in recent years. Nowadays this discipline can be seen as a complementary technology to the genomic as well as transcriptomics research. Proteomics is defined as the qualitative and quantitative comparison of the whole expressed proteins of a cell or organism under defined conditions. Proteins can be identified by the measured peptide masses after enzymatic digestion.

Our facility provides tools for shot gun proteomics of complex samples as well as identification of proteins in 1 or 2D-gels.

High resolution mass spectrometry (Orbitrap Q Exactive HF, Thermo)

Shotgun protein identification and relative quantification is carried out using the Q-Exactive HF mass spectrometer coupled to a nano-HPLC Ultimate 3000 RSLC system from Thermo.
