Who may use the university library?

The university library is open to all but in particular for the use of the following individuals:

  • Members and graduates of the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna
  • Members and graduates of other Austrian universities and universities of applied sciences (courses at universities of applied sciences)
  • Persons aged 14 and over
  • Persons under 14 years of age with written consent and a letter of indemnity by the parent or guardian

For entitlement to use the library, the university library is authorized to request suitable proof of user identity such as a valid government issued photo ID.
  
If justified, especially where available resources are limited, the authorisation for the purposes of teaching and research can be restricted.

Are there rooms available for group studies?

Four rooms are available for group studies. Group study rooms 1, 2 and 4 are to be found upstairs and the group working room 3 is on the ground floor of the university library. Further facilities available include 6 individual work areas on the upper floor. The group study rooms are unlocked and, provided they are free, can be used at any time.
A reservation of rooms for group work is unfortunately not possible.
