Training - Your personal skills boost

We regularly offer in-house training for teachers and for staff responsible for preparing teaching materials. The corresponding workshops take place mainly at the beginning of a semester and at other times if required. In addition, we offer classes on a wide range of topics. They range from the basics of the learning platform Vetucation, the case-based software Casus and other tools to media production and copyright subjects. You can find our range of training courses in the catalogue of the Personnel Development (PE) department.

Tool collection - a box full of digital instruments

Our tool collection offers teachers an overview of the various computer programmes available at Vetmeduni Vienna, collectively called software tools. These include both well-known commercial products and true insider tips from the freeware sector. Depending on the desired functionality, you can search for specific tools, e.g., audio or video editing, designing interactive learning scenarios, or collaborative learning settings. Alternatively, you can browse through our entire tool collection and get ideas for projects this way. The classification into categories, including a short description and examples of use, makes it easy to choose the right tool.

Vetucation for teachers and students - this is where you get help!

The two courses, "Vetucation for Teachers" and "Vetucation for Students", serve as central information channels for the dialogue of the E-Learning and New Media Department with teachers and students, respectively.  The two courses contain basic information on our e-learning systems, including instructions, FAQs, checklists, (video) tutorials and inspiring best-practice examples. In addition, we publish all current information, event tips, announcements and dates in these courses. In short: "Vetucation for teachers and students are central information platforms on the topic of online teaching at the Vetmeduni.

Photo productions - taking photos instead of snaps

Media are an essential element in the transfer of knowledge. All surveys among students confirm that qualitative images are indispensable elements of digital teaching. However, specific know-how is required to continuously produce photos of good quality - i.e. meaningful in terms of content and technology at a high level. That's why we offer advice and workshops on photography - for smartphone photographers, too, of course.

Image & media rights - what am I allowed to do and what not?

Anyone who uses other people's media (media that they did not produce themself) should know the legal basis for their use and thus know what is permitted and what is not. These uses are regulated by copyright law, a relatively complex matter that is also written in legalese that is incomprehensible to ordinary mortals. The issue becomes even more complicated when recognisable persons can be seen/heard in photos or videos, and then data protection regulations must also be observed. We have dealt with both topics and offer specific, periodic training as well as individual advice. In addition, we have created a generally understandable document on the subject of "Copyright for Teachers", which reflects the basic rules of the law understandably and practically, even for non-lawyers.
