Research collaborations

Practically, basic research paves the way for the development of improved and novel vaccines and diagnostic tools.

Furthermore, basic research projects deepen the knowledge on immune cell subpopulations and thus help to better understand the interaction between pathogens and the immune system.

At our university, intramural collaborations are established with the clinics and with disciplines representing the field of infection medicine.

Collaborations with well-known companies support vaccine improvement and put forward the development of novel vaccines against various viral and bacterial pathogens and help to identify potential correlates of protection.
