The sensory analysis of hay gives information as to its feed value, its botanical composition (particularly in cases where poisoning is suspected) and its hygienic status.

2-5 kg of hay are required to perform this analysis. Samples should be representative (i.e., removal of individual probes from different sampling areas, which are then combined into an aggregate sample).
