Visiting period as incoming PhD student

Incoming students who are enrolled in a regular PhD programme at a foreign university and are planning to spend a limited period of time (minimum 5 days to maximum 3 semesters) at the Vetmeduni Vienna

  • require a scientific PhD advisor / supervisor at Vetmeduni Vienna for the entire visiting period

ATTENTION:

For visiting periods starting between February 1 and August 31: personal enrolment at Vetmeduni Vienna has to take place between February 1 and April 30 (admission period summer semester)

For visiting periods starting between September 1 and January 31: personal enrolment at Vetmeduni Vienna has to take place between September 1 and November 30 (admission period winter semester)

The process of registration as incoming PhD student at Vetmeduni Vienna requires the following steps:

1) Please fill in the application form 'PHD_INCOMING APPLICATION: 'Application for Admission to the Vetmeduni PhD Programme as a visiting student for a limited period of time' (see box on the top right hand corner) and send it to your PhD advisor / supervisor at Vetmeduni Vienna for completion and signature

2) Inform the International Relations Office (see box on the right) about your intended visiting period and indicate whether you will be receiving a mobility scholarship for financial support

3) You will receive an online link by e-mail where you have to perform an online registration.

4) For your personal enrolment at the student services office of Vetmeduni Vienna with Ms Regine Major (see box on the right) you will have to present the following documents:

  • Completed and signed application form (see above)
  • Passport or Identity Card
  • visiting period WITHOUT mobility scholarship:
    - Original Final certificate of previous studies (e.g. Master diploma) bearing official stamp and signature
    - Proof of current enrolment at home university bearing official stamp and signature
  • visiting period WITH mobility scholarship:
    - Proof of mobility scholarship award
    - Filled-in and signed form PHD_CONFIRMATION (see box on the top right hand corner)
