Lisa Maria Glenk studied biology and veterinary medicine with a focus on developmental biology and behavioral endocrinology. She completed her doctoral studies at the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna, in 2012 on animal-assisted interventions. She worked as a guest scientist at the Charles University in Prague and as a project partner in the virtual reality laboratory at the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Vienna.

In addition, she is strongly involved in science communication for non-academics (e.g. hands-on science, school lectures, Kinderuni, public relations). Her work has been honored with numerous grants and awards. Lisa Maria Glenk joined the team of comparative medicine in 2013 as a postdoctoral junior researcher at the interface of animal welfare, stress physiology and immune modulation.
