“Meta-PIG” - Evaluation of microbial and host metabolites as biomarkers for gut health in pigs

This project area “Meta-PIG” focuses on discovering host and microbial analyte profiles in feces, urine and blood that reflect the gut homeostatic condition in the small and large intestine of weaned pigs. In doing so, we evaluate the reliability of identified potential biomarker profiles for gut health using different feeding concepts to boost gut health in weaned pigs.
