Dr. Evelyn Steinberg is a senior scientist in the field of medical education research at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, Austria. Her main research project is “Self-regulated learning in medical education” 1, funded by the Austrian Science Fund FWF. She is also partner in the SOFTVETS 2 project focusing on life skills in medical education, funded by the EU commission.

 

She was head of the assessment and quality assurance unit of VetmedUni Vienna and coordinated the IQM-HE 3 project on quality management in competence-based higher education. She published on competence-based higher education with a focus on bridging the gap between theory and practice and developing instruments for curriculum evaluation.

She obtained her doctoral degree cum laude on the topic of learning, applying a comprehensive view including cognitive, metacognitive, motivational and emotional aspects of learning as well as considering contextual factors of the learning environment.
