Update 15.3.2020, 3pm

The Austrian government has just communicated mobility restrictions with immediate effect for all public spaces and called on everybody to leave their homes only for urgently needed errands.

Therefore, please do NOT come to the campus or branch offices of Vetmeduni Vienna as of tomorrow (Monday 16 March 2020) and until further notice.

Excluded from this are staff members who serve to maintain vital operations and system-critical infrastructure.

The vital operations and system-critical infrastructure of Vetmeduni Vienna includes

  • Animal hospital operations (restricted mode)
  • Maintainance of animal testing facilities
  • Maintenance of basic operations at the Vetmeduni Vienna or in the branch offices (Rectorate, Buildings and Technical Infrastructure, Public Relations and Communication, Finance and Accounting, E-Learning and New Media, Human Resources, Central IT Service, Security Service, Doorman Services, Wolf Science Center and VetFarm)
  • as well as other necessary on-site tasks in your area as identified by your supervisors

Employees of Vetmeduni Vienna, who have been identified and appointed by their managers for the maintenance of system-critical operations at Vetmeduni Vienna, are exempt from the exit restriction and can travel to and from the university for the performance of their official duties.

You will be instructed to do so by your supervisor via email, including a signature, so that you can provide proof of your system-critical function even on your arrival and departure in the event of any checks by the executive authorities!

Attention: All those employees who have been in the designated quarantine areas of Austria since 28 February 2020 observe strict domestic quarantine!

The detailed organisational implementation will follow after consultation with the worker's council (Betriebsrat)!

Thank you for your cooperation!
