At the Work Group Histology and Embryology we are engaged in the areas of basic as well as applied, experimental research, which we combine with microscopic and molecular biological topics.

Over the course of the last several years, research efforts at the Work Group Histology and Embryology have formed around various focal points:

• Locomotor system and regenerative medicine
• Reproduction and development
• Tumour biology
• Quantitative Morphology

Teaching

In the histology curricula, organogenesis and embryogenesis are introduced by means of various specimens, so that students have the opportunity to integrate their acquired knowledge from embryology classes with structures and illustrative material. 

 

Services

Due to limited capacity, in histology and embryology there is the possibility (within limits) of requesting the customized preparation of sections and stains of diverse specimens.
