Research

Our research focuses on virulence mechanisms of zoonotic pathogens, as well as on microbiome and microbial genome analysis along the food production chain.

Teaching

In the basic course and advanced module, the Unit of Food Microbiology primarily teaches the safety of milk and milk products, but also the safety of plant-based foods.

Diagnostic

The diagnostic facility processes food samples to detect listeria and other pathogens and uses microbiological and molecular biological methods for analysis in accordance with the ISO standard.
