Welcome to the Unit of Herd Health Management in Ruminants!

Our activities focus on teaching, research and the targeted transfer of knowledge into practice - for preventive, sustainable herd health. We combine evidence-based research with practical training and develop solutions in the areas of animal health management, husbandry, biosecurity and feeding together with partner companies.

The focus is on fertility, metabolic management, udder and hoof health and rearing. The aim is to improve animal welfare, operational safety and resource efficiency through structured monitoring and clear, practicable measures. Findings from projects and teaching are constantly fed back into practice - and vice versa. This creates a lively network.
