Univ.-Prof. Dr. Qendrim Zebeli began his tenure as Professor of Animal Nutrition on October 1st, 2010.
Univ.-Prof. Dr. Zebeli and his team are active in research areas at the interface between nutritional physiology and the prevention of nutrition-related metabolic disorders in ruminant animals. The primary goal of his research efforts is to characterize the mechanisms underlying the role of nutrition on the health and productivity of ruminants and to use this information in developing innovative nutritional strategies designed to support the well-being and productivity of animals.
The research focuses primarily on rumen metabolism, intermediary metabolism and the innate immune system.
