ISAG 2023 Poster Award in Kapstadt

Elif Bozlak, PHD Studentin der Vienna Graduate School of Population Genetics, hat von 2.-7. Juli 2023 bei der 23. Tagung der International Society for Animal Genetics (ISAG) in Kapstadt teilgenommen. Sie hat ihre genetischen Arbeiten zu Y-Chromosomen bei Rentieren präsentiert. Ihr Poster „The first Rangifer tarandus Y chromosomal phylogeny“ wurde mit dem ISAG – Excellent Poster Award 2023 ausgezeichnet. Wir gratulieren Elif und bedanken uns bei den Projektpartnern vom Natural Resources Institute Finland.

Weiter war die Arbeitsgruppe von Barbara Wallner in einem internationalen Konsortium (geleitet von Dr. Bellone von der UC Davis) zur Ausarbeitung eines SNP - Abstammungs Panel für Pferde bei der ISAG erfolgreich vertreten. Die Vorschläge aus dem Projekt „Development of a Robust Across Breed Equine Parentage SNP Panel for ISAG Approval“ wurden akzeptiert und das vorgeschlagene Panel wird für den ISAG Comparison Test vorbereitet.

Elif Bozlak, Ph.D. student at the Vienna Graduate School of Population Genetics, visited the 23^rd meeting of the International Society for Animal Genetics (ISAG) in Cape Town from 2.-7. July 2023. She presented her work on reindeer Y chromosomes and the poster "The first Rangifer tarandus Y chromosomal phylogeny" received one of the ISAG - Excellent Poster Awards. Congratulations to Elif and thanks to the project partners from the Natural Resources Institute Finland.

Barbara Wallner's group was also successful at ISAG in an international consortium, coordinated by Dr. Bellone from UC Davis. The results of the project "Development of a Robust Across Breed Equine Parentage SNP Panel for ISAG Approval" have been accepted and the proposed panel is being prepared for the ISAG comparison test.
