Transdisciplinary prioritization of climate-sensitive zoonotic diseases for One Health collaboration in Austria

Project management at the Vetmeduni: Desvars Amelie

The growing threat posed by zoonoses to health, economic stability, and societal well-being is further exacerbated by climate change, which alters pathogen transmission dynamics and expands their geographic range. The Zoonoses & Climate project establishes Austria’s first nationally tailored framework to assess and prioritize climate-sensitive zoonoses.Using a One Health approach, the project integrates expertise in veterinary, human, and environmental health, epidemiology, disaster research, and climate science.
