First Austrian bird ring assigned

Just in time for the height of the spring migration on 5 April 2016 the first bird was marked with an Austrian ring.

The first bird to do the honours was a Eurasian blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla), which now wears a small aluminium ring marked "T 000001" and the inscription "KLIVV.AT AUSTRIA“ on its leg.

Bird ringer meeting in Salzburg 2016

The first bird ringer meeting of the AOC took place on 27 February 2016 at the Haus der Natur in Salzburg. 

The focus of the event was on information about the AOC and on networking among the ringers.
