E-Mail

Neda Barghi studied fisheries engineering in Persian Gulf University-Iran. She pursued her master’s at the San Carlos University (Philippines) and received her PhD from University of the Philippines-Diliman in 2015. During her PhD, she studied the adaptive processes underlying the diversification and evolution of toxin genes in closely related species of Conus using comparative transcriptomics and genomic analysis. During 4 years postdoc, she worked on the genomics of thermal adaptation in Drosophila using Pool-Seq time-series data and molecular and phenotypic assays. Since July 2019, she has held an independent group leader position at Vetmeduni Vienna where she studies polygenic adaptation using experimental evolution.
