All my life, I have been interested in the science of life. This interest was reflected in my participation in various biological competitions during high school. During my bachelor’s studies, I focused on general biotechnology and microbiology, and my growing interest in genetics became increasingly apparent.

I was subsequently accepted into the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Program in Plant Breeding (emPLANT+), where I concentrated on fundamental concepts in genetics and breeding. For my thesis, I studied deleterious mutations in wild and cultivated beets at the Institute of Computational Biology, BOKU, under the supervision of Professor Heinz Himmelbauer.

My current research interests focus on deleterious mutations and their effects on fitness.
