Research between animals, humans and the environment - Interview with Pia Maria Saria - 03.2026

As part of a article series for the format “NACHGEFRAGT”, organized by APA-Science, the science news service of the Austrian Press Agency, on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science and International Women’s Day, early-career female researchers with interesting research projects were invited to participate. In this context, Pia Saria was asked to give an interview about her research and perspectives on women in science. She spoke about her research and shared perspectives on women in science and the importance of diversity in research.

Peter Paulsen awarded the UVLF Košice commemorative medal - 10.2025

On October 16th 2025, the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy (UVLF) Košice celebrated the 50th anniversary of its Food Hygiene degree program.

As part of this ceremony, long-standing and deserving cooperation partners from home and abroad were honored with a commemorative medal. Peter Paulsen from the Vetmeduni's Center for Food Science and Public Veterinary Medicine received one of these awards.

First portrait of Elisabeth Varga - 11.2023

Elisabeth Varga, new Assistant Professor of Analytical Chemistry, Food and Environmental Analysis, became a researcher through her fascination with mass spectrometry. At the Vetmeduni she will continue to work on fungal and algal toxins and on testing the quality of meat.

Winners of the photo competition "Animal Encounters" - 03.2023

This picture was taken as part of the research project "Symbiotic pasture management of chickens and pigs to improve animal welfare".

At the Herrmannsdorf estate Lena Reiser succeeded in taking this successful shot and thus brought us 6th place out of more than 130 entries.
