State Veterinary Public Health Program

The university course ‘Veterinary Physics’ is a postgraduate university course that prepares students for and enables them to pass the veterinary physics examination, which is a prerequisite for being commissioned and appointed to perform official veterinary duties.

The aim of the university course is to provide sustainable training for qualified veterinarians to work in public veterinary administration. The practical application of the knowledge imparted should enable course participants to carry out the tasks required in public veterinary administration at a high professional level and on the basis of the latest developments, with a focus on animal welfare, animal diseases, food safety and veterinary medicines, and the underlying national and international legal provisions.

The university course is run in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection, which provides economic, organisational and content-related support.
