Projects

2025 - 2028: Researcher working on host–microbiome–pathogen interactions in aquaculture systems. My current research focuses on investigating how early-life culture conditions shape the microbiome and subsequently influence susceptibility and immune responses to infectious diseases at later life stages in rainbow trout.

This project is fully funded by the EU/FWF project AQUAWELL, Steering microbiomes to ensure rainbow trout health and welfare, FWF Grant DOI 10.55776/PIN1743725, November 2025 - October 2028, PI: Priv.-Doz. Dr. Mona Saleh.
