Himani Sachdeva  studied physics at the University of Delhi and completed her PhD in statistical physics at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) in Mumbai, India in 2014. For her postdoctoral work, she switched to theoretical population and evolutionary genetics. She worked as a postdoc with N. Barton at ISTA from 2015 until January 2020, when she took up a position as an independent group leader (equivalent of Assistant Prof.) at the Department of Mathematics, University of Vienna. She is studying the effects of polygenic selection on adaptive response within populations and adaptive differentiation between populations using mathematical and computational approaches.
