The University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna assigns on request DOIs (Digital Object Identifier) for objects on the institutional repository Phaidra.

DOIs are unique and citable digital identifiers in the form of an alphanumeric string and link permanently to an object and its metadata. Thus DOIs make it easier to find, cite, and identify the assigned objects.

DOIs have have become a standard for scientific articles and research data. Numerous platforms and publishers assign DOIs for publications and datasets

Requirements

• The object must be archived in Phaidra

• No DOI has been assigned to the object yet

• The object creator has to be an university employee

Allocation

The DOI is assigned free of charge by the university library. Please contact bibliothekinfo@vetmeduni.ac.at.

Attention: If you want to enter the DOI directly into the document, you have to request the DOI before storing the file in Phaidra.
