I am a geneticist with a research background in microbiology, evolutionary biology and host-microbe interactions. My current research interests revolve around the various aspects of the mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the One Health context. I focus on how various antimicrobials (immune system effectors, biocides and antibiotics) elicit bacterial stress responses and antimicrobial resistance, and use this knowledge to develop new drugs and rapid diagnostics, that can be used to mitigate AMR across One Health sectors.
