EZproxy can be used in two different ways

  • Option 1:
Log in via the following EZproxy start page (= start page of the library with EZproxy) and access all licensed resources as long as you do not leave EZproxy.

--> In this case please make sure that the URL always contains ezproxy.vetmeduni.ac.at. If that is not the case anymore, you will have to sign up again via the EZproxy start page.

  • Option 2:
Or you can use a so-called "bookmarklet” (= bookmark with JavaScript) for each individual resource.
In this case you can search without prior registration our online resources. Subsequently, the registration can be done by the use of the "bookmarklet" for each located individual resource. The EZProxy bookmarklet adds the library's EZProxy prefix to a URL.

How to install our Bookmarklet

EZproxy    <---  EZproxy-Button

  • Drag this button up to the bookmarks toolbar in your browser (or save it to your favorites toolbar):
  • You will now see a new button in your toolbar: "EZproxy"
  • Now, if an online resource asks you to log in, click the “EZproxy” button to reload the page and log in with your Vetmeduni username and password.
  • If the Library has a subscription to the resource through the website that you're using, you will be able to view it.
