PressReader – Now available in the Vetmeduni library!
The Vetmeduni University Library is pleased to announce that, as of January 1st 2026, it will be expanding its digital services with the addition of PressReader. PressReader provides convenient and easy online access to a wide range of international and national newspapers and magazines.
What is PressReader?
PressReader PressReader is a premier digital newsstand providing instant access to over 7,000 top newspapers and magazines from 150+ countries in 60+ languages. Whether you're looking for daily newspapers or specialist magazines, PressReader offers a wide selection for a variety of interests.

Animal magazines: Search specifically for specialist magazines and articles on animal care, equestrian sports, and much more.
Daily newspapers: Read publications such as The Washington Post or The Guardian.
Features of PressReader
Create a PressReader account and take advantage of its convenient features.
- Full-text search: Find articles on specific topics.
- Interactive features: Articles can be commented on, shared and saved.
- Translation options: Content can be translated directly into different languages.
- Offline-use: Download content and read it without an internet connection.
- Personalization: Create personalized reading lists and follow your favorite publications. Save your favorite articles as favorites.
Usage and access modalities
For Vetmeduni-members
- Access from anywhere: Within the Vetmeduni network and via remote access EZProxy or Shibboleth.
- Mobile use: Download the PressReader app (Apple Store / Google Play) to access content on the go. Create a personal account for the app within the Vetmeduni network. Please note: You will be authorized to use the content for 7 days. After 7 days, log back into the Vetmeduni network via the app to renew your authorization. You can download complete newspaper editions and read them offline.
For external users
- On-site access: Visit the Vetmeduni library and use Pressreader on the public computers there.
- No remote access: External users can only use Pressreader on site.
