This ranking underscores Vetmeduni’s strong visibility in the international research landscape and reflects its sustained work on key areas such as One Health, sustainable and interdisciplinary research priorities, the regionalization initiative VetmedRegio, and the digitalization of the livestock sector. Together, these efforts aim to further improve animal health and welfare and to translate knowledge effectively into practice.

The subject ranking evaluates universities in 57 disciplines across the natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences, based on nine objective indicators grouped into the categories World-Class Faculty, World-Class Research Output, High-Quality Research, Research Impact, and International Collaboration. Each year, around 20,000 discipline-specific units from approximately 2,000 universities in roughly 100 countries and regions feed into the evaluation.
