Shanghai ranking: Vetmeduni among the top 10

In the current "Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2025" - or "Shanghai Ranking" for short - the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna once again achieved a top position in the field of "Life Sciences".

In total, over 2,000 universities worldwide in 57 academic subjects in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences and social sciences are examined and compared for this renowned university ranking. Numerous objective indicators such as research performance, international cooperation, research quality and international academic honours are included in the assessment.

Vetmeduni is ranked sixth in the world in the field of veterinary sciences, making it an integral part of the top international field in 2025. In a European comparison, it ranks second behind the University of Ghent, which is in fourth place.
