The Staff Unit for Quality Development and Monitoring of Teaching is subordinate to the Vice-Rector for Teaching, Teaching Innovation and Clinical Matters (VRLK) and provides support in the planning, management, and quality development of teaching. Its tasks include collaboration in the development and revision of curricula for degree programmes, non-degree programmes, and university courses.

It also coordinates the calculation of curricula, reviews applications for new elective courses, and carries out preliminary reviews of cost plans for university programmes and courses. As part of its interface function, the unit is responsible for liaising with Controlling. It also supports the development of standards and guidelines for teaching and creates and monitors central processes of the VRLK in the area of teaching in close coordination with the responsible departments.
