First conference on Parrot Cognition, 2 August 2018

On the 12th and the 13th of July, the Messerli Research Institute successfully hosted the first conference on the topic of Parrot Cognition. The workshop-type meeting was organized by the heads of the Institute’s two parrot labs (the Kea Lab and the Goffin Lab), Raoul Schwing and Alice Auersperg. The event was visited by an international selection of scientists, conservationists, animal welfare people and veterinarians. It was opened by a plenary presentations by Prof. Irene Pepperberg (Harvard) followed by numerous exciting oral and poster presentation as well as collective visits to the corresponding research locations.
