30% of 30-years old, and 33% of 60-year old Austrians are treated with gastric acid-inhibitors, and in veterinary medicine these drugs are bestsellers, too. As a continuation of their previous works, the team around Erika Jensen-Jarolim 1 performed a population-wide study in Austria and found a significant correlation between the intake of these drugs and symptoms of respiratory allergies, treated by H1R blockers and allergen-specific immunotherapy. See  https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-019-10914-6 2
