Ana Maria Perez Arredondo started her postdoc at Vetmeduni in October 2025. She is working on the project "Zoonoses & Climate", where she studies how climate change affects health outcomes at the human-animal-environment interface, and helps prioritize climate-sensitive zoonoses in Austria using a transdisciplinary approach.

Ana Maria's broader research interests include science-policy interfaces, health financing, social protection, agricultural economics, sustainable development, and holistic health approaches like One Health and Planetary Health.

Her doctoral research at the Center for Development Research (ZEF) of the University of Bonn (Germany) covered several aspects of One Health implementation in Ghana. She holds a joint Master's degree in International Agribusiness and Rural Development Economics from the University of Göttingen (Germany) and the University of Talca (Chile), and a Bachelor's degree in International Business from the University of Guadalajara (Mexico).

She is also affiliated with the Complexity Science Hub (CSH).

Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, foraging for wild fruits and mushrooms, practicing archery, and watching tennis.
